1. Who is responsible for your information?
Shambala Petit Beach House is operated by Roberto Hernandez Lopez (“Shambala”, “we”, “us”), located at Carretera Tulum Boca Paila Km 7.5, Zona Hotelera, Tulum, C.P. 77780, Quintana Roo, Mexico. 2. Information we collect
When you inquire about a stay, request a quote, submit a website contact form, or complete a Google Ads lead form, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, country, planned dates, guest count, type of stay or event, and details you choose to provide. When you use the website, technical usage data may also be collected through cookies or analytics tools, if enabled, as described in Section 7.
3. How we use it
We use personal information to receive and respond to inquiries, assess availability and suitability of whole-property reservations, prepare quotes, arrange guest services, communicate about a booking, operate and secure our website, meet legal obligations, and maintain reasonable business records. We may send optional promotional communications only where the required notice and consent or other lawful basis applies; you may opt out at any time.
4. Legal basis and choices
We process information in accordance with applicable Mexican personal-data protection rules and, where relevant, other applicable laws. We request necessary information to respond to your voluntary inquiry or manage our relationship with you. Where consent is required for optional processing, we will seek it separately. You may decline optional information, although some details may be needed to prepare an accurate reservation proposal.
5. Sharing and service providers
To operate Shambala, we may use website hosting, reservation administration, email services, Google Analytics and Google Ads, when actually enabled. Information is shared only as necessary for these functions or as legally required. We do not sell reservation-inquiry contact information.
6. Retention and security
We use the following working retention schedule: inquiries that do not result in a booking are generally deleted or anonymized 12 months after our last meaningful communication; records of completed reservations are generally retained for 5 years after checkout, or longer when required by applicable accounting, tax, legal, security or dispute obligations. We delete or anonymize data once no longer needed, subject to lawful exceptions.
7. Cookies, analytics and advertising
The website may use necessary cookies and, if actually enabled, analytical or advertising technologies such as Google Analytics or Google Ads to understand site usage and assess advertising performance. Where required, we will offer notice or consent choices. Visitors can also manage cookies in their browser, although doing so may affect website functionality.
8. Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your personal information, correction, cancellation/deletion or opposition to certain uses (commonly known in Mexico as ARCO rights), and where applicable revoke consent or limit use/disclosure. Contact booking@shambalapetithotel.com with your name, a description of your request and enough information to locate the relevant records. We may request reasonable identity verification before acting. We will respond within the periods established by applicable law and explain available review options where required.
9. International visitors and transfers
We use or may use providers such as Google Ads, Google Analytics, website hosting, booking administration and email services. Depending on their infrastructure, personal information may be accessed, stored or processed outside Mexico. We aim to require appropriate protections and follow the requirements of applicable law for transfers to third parties and processing by service providers.
10. Updates to this notice
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our operations or applicable requirements. We will post the revised version here with an updated effective date and provide additional notice when legally required.
